Warranty Replacement of Copag Cards
While Copag brand playing cards are made from high quality materials and to rigid standards of excellence, there can occasionally be a small defect in a deck of cards. Due to their commitment to excellence and customer service, the Copag USA Company will replace the whole deck of cards if any deck you receive is found to have a defective card.
In order to prove that you have a defective deck, first you will need to realize there is a problem before the deck is heavily used. Next you will need to mail an example of the defective card or cards along with the 4 aces and the guarantee card from your deck to Copag USA. This envelope should also contain the completed form letter from the Copag USA website. This form letter asks for your name, address, phone number, email address, and a description of the problem. The letter also instructs you where to mail the defective cards. Access to this letter can be obtained at the Copag USA Warranty Replacement page.
Please do not get this warranty replacement program confused with generic replacement card programs that you may see on other websites. First understand that Copag USA is not protecting your cards from accidental or purposeful damage. Also know that while plastic playing cards will outlast paper cards many times over, they will not last forever. Plastic playing cards can be damaged or destroyed, especially when not properly cared for. The cards should be stored at room temperature and should not be exposed to extreme heat or cold. Solvents and alcohol are not for cleaning cards and will damage the coating. Rough play such as gauging with fingernails and throwing or dropping onto hard surfaces can damage cards also.
There are some additional thoughts of caution related to the non warranty replacement card programs. First of all you will typically pay at least $1 for a single replacement card. While this is understandable, since no one can make a profitable business around just selling replacement cards for Copag decks, it is still quite a bit of money for one playing card. Next, the more real problem that can exist is a slight shade difference in the coloration of the replacement card as compared to the rest of the deck. Any slight difference is easily detectable by even the most novice of players and simply results in a very obvious, but unintentional, marked card.
The color difference could occur in a couple of different ways. The age of your deck and the simple activity of using the deck and cleaning it could cause the color variance. Also, while Copag cards are top quality and are manufactured to strict tolerances, there can be slight variations in color shade from batch to batch. These variations are not detectable until you mix one card from a new batch in with the playing cards from an older batch. While it is not always noticeable, when it is noticed, the contrast is obvious. So, if you find yourself with a damaged card or cards in one of your Copag decks you may be better off simply replacing the whole deck of cards. However, if you believe that you have a new deck of Copag cards that are defective in some way, you should be able to get these replaced with the cost of mailing a letter to Copag USA.
